French Prime Minister Manuel Valls has laid the first stone of eco-tourism project Villages Nature on December 11th in Marne la Vallée. This holiday park will be supplied by geothermal energy and will serve as a role model by meeting stringent specifications in terms of sustainable development. Arnaud SUSPLUGAS, Chairman of Kyotherm has been appointed Chairman of the Société Géothermale de Val d’Europe. The entity has the responsibility to finance and build the installations that will provide geothermal heat to Villages Nature and Disney Land Paris. French Prime Minister Manuel Valls attended the cocktail that followed the first stone ceremony.

The project led by the Société Géothermale de Val d’Europe will include the drilling of a geothermal doublet that will reach the Dogger aquifer located 1 850 meters below the ground level It also includes the construction of a district heating network on the Villages Nature site as well as a connection with the Disney Land Paris site (distant from 8 km) to provide the entertainment resort with renewable energy.
